Chiara Simone is PhD student at Charles University in Prague, where she investigates late capitalist urban space in 21th century graphic novels. She graduated at Università di Napoli Federico II with a thesis on transcultural adaptations. She also spent a study semester at Universiteit Leiden and attended conferences and international summer universities. She is a member of the «Osservatorio sul romanzo contemporaneo» directed by professors Francesco de Cristofaro and Elisabetta Abignente. In Prague she teaches Italian language and literature at Gymnázium Ústavní. Among her main research interests there is the contemporary dystopian novel, the philosophical investigation of capitalist realism, psychogeography and questions of agentivity concerning anthropized and non-anthropized spaces.
