Carmela Viscardi studied Modern Literature at the University of Naples Federico II. She graduated with a thesis in Comparative Literature on the image of the city in European modernism. Then she studied Modern Philology at the same university and she spent a period abroad at the Nantes Université, where she wrote her master thesis. She is a member of the research group Dopo il primato within the Osservatorio sul romanzo contemporaneo, directed by Elisabetta Abignente and Francesco de Cristofaro.
